Welcome to Irrawaddy Earth

Our organization originated from the Mbala-Mbala project, which since 2015 has been tackling erosion and protecting the last remaining forest in Kinshasa’s Ngaliema district. What started with a few committed residents grew into the non-profit Friends of Mbala-Mbala in 2018, providing years of support to the local community and its environment.

Today, we continue this commitment under a new name: Irrawaddy Earth. The Irrawaddy River, “the river that brings blessings to the people,” inspires us as a symbol of interconnectedness, resilience, and respect for nature. Just like this lifeline in Myanmar, we aim to contribute to healthy ecosystems, strong communities, and a sustainable future.

On this site, you will find more about our projects, our vision, and how you can help us build a world where people and nature thrive together.

Thank you for your interest,
