Following the first successful interventions in the Kamanyol Acre and the initial actions to improve water management in the neighbourhood, an initiative was launched to set up a volunteer organisation to work together on the sanitation problems in the neighbourhood. In 2016, L’Association des Volontaires pour un Environnement Salubre (AVES) was established as a de facto association. In 2018, it was officially registered as a local NGO.
The aim of AVES is to contribute to the protection of the environment and to improve the living conditions of the people in the neighbourhood. The Friends of Mabla-Mbala continued their collaboration with AVES in 2019 to pursue our common goals.
